The Best Candied Jalapeno Peppers recipe ever

It's a yearly tradition with me to make these Candied Jalapeno Peppers at the end of Summer time. We love them! I normally make about 4 to 6 batches each year so that we have enough to last us until the next summer. Our favorite thing to do with them is to take some Club Crackers, spread some cream cheese on the crackers and then top with a few slices of these fantastic peppers. Yummo!!

I didn't take time to take pictures while I was preparing the peppers, to much is always going on when I make these to grab a camera but here they are sitting pretty as can be in the jars.

I always make double batches of these peppers, if you decide to do the same just double all the ingredients below.

Exciting news for us- Etsy shop

I have some big news to share, My daughter and I opened up an Etsy shop a couple of weeks ago. So as you might think, we've been very busy creating items for it. Keeping up with the two Antique Shops that we are in locally, along with our new business adventure it is keeping us busy indeed. Lots of fun and creativity going on, so it's all good! I'm just having a hard time finding time to post or blog a lot lately. I hope that you'll stick with me though.

Here are a few items that I've made and  painted lately. My rustic signs were made from reclaimed wood. Luckily I have quite a stash of it so I'll be creating lots of new looks with the boards. My daughter, Molly is creating some great items too with them.

The one below has already found a new home.
I absolutely adore the rustic look to these signs, what do you think?

If you would like to check out our shop HERE'S the link. I would have loved to name it the same as my blog but no go, the name was too long which was such a bummer to me, since everything we create or transform is From The Heart.

Do you have an Etsy shop? Drop me a note, I'd love to see it.

Thanks so much for stopping by
Have a beautiful day!

From the Heart,
Jana

Old World Pillar Candle Holder

Gosh, I've taken a blogging break for a while now. Where does time go? It seems that I've been covered up in work for the Antique shops and just keeping things up around our home during the summer months that I just haven't taken the time until now to get back to blogging.
I've worked on tons of projects but didn't take many photos. Especially before photos, I'm so bad about that!
Here's something that I finished lately. I love this ornate pillar candle holder that I purchased at an Antique shop some time ago. She came to me solid white, I knew she would look much better with some color.

She looks much more beautiful with color than she did just plain white. Adding greens, blues, browns, pinks, gold and giving her a nice wash in watered down brown really changed her looks.
Making her look old world really sets off the details.
I feel like I've really stepped back in time looking at her.

I love how she turned out. Now she proudly sits in our Antique booth waiting for her new home. Or I may just bring her back home with me because I really do love her new look.

Have you tried doing any washes to add color to boring items? This was a fun project that really changed the original pillar candle holder. What do you think of her?

I purchase an adorable concrete cherub the other day with the hopes of doing something similar to it. I promise to take before photos when I start working on it.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit!

Jana
