Sprucing up the yard

The last week I've been busy, busy, busy in the yard doing some Spring cleaning, weeding and plantings. I so enjoy this time of year. Though it does keep me busy and hard working. At the end of each day, I'm exhausted but pleased to see the little and big accomplishments.
I won't show all the piles and piles of weeds that I've pulled. I'm sure it's not interesting to you in the least bit. It does amaze me how I can grow weeds so well but have to baby all my plants just to keep them alive. Am I the only one that has this problem??
I love container gardening, it makes it so easy to just dig out the old and in my case most of the time, the dead plant and replace it with new ones for the season.

Love all our Adirondack chairs that we redone last year.
If you missed it, you can read about their transformation HERE.
I love the little pops of color around our backyard.
Hanging baskets are a must under our pavilion.
I had two Geraniums last year, one survived but the other didn't. So I bought a couple more for this year. Don't you love the vibrant red that they have? I sure do!

We had some major rain showers last night, so there will not be any work for me outside today. I do need to get on some painting projects for my Antique Booth though. Will share some of them with you soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by
I appreciate each and every visit!

From the Heart,
Jana

  2. I don't ever have good luck with Geraniums in NJ, I think the climate goes from one extreme to the other too much. I love them though so that is a bummer. Everything is looking great.

  3. How lovely, lovely. I love geraniums but they only do well for a few weeks, then it gets too hot for them, or at least that's all I can figure out. I love your turquoise-y chair.

I can't wait to get home and get to work in my gardens.

  4. Pretty colors in this post, Jana! Your chairs are darling...I must go check out the link you provided to their history.

Take it easy, working outside so much. I get exhausted quickly & I think it is because I don't drink enough when I'm out there.

Hope you have a safe Memorial Day.

    fondly,
    Rett

  6. I seem to have that special touch for growing weeds too! LOL....I am trying to find a flower for the pots on my front porch that can take the heat. So far everything I have tried each summer has burned up by the end of the season even with watering twice a day....Love your turqoise chair too :o)

  7. I've been sprucing up my yard too before it gets to hot to go outside! Everything I grow in pots gets heat stroke... seriously. I have about 15 plants in pots under a shaded gazebo so they don't die and its only in the 80's! I may have to rethink this whole "pot" thing and give them to my daughter to plant in her yard lol always something right? lol
    big hugs,
    Cheryl

  9. Cute chair! We've had so much rain... can't really do anything out side, and can't do much painting either. Rain time means movie time for us ;-)
