Monday morning backyard ramblings

I hope you all had a great weekend.

We had some gorgeous weather. The kind that just makes you want to go outside and enjoy the temps. I had other plans for the weekend but I just couldn't help myself but to spend as much of it as I could outdoors. The temps were in the 80's, which is a huge difference from the over 100 degree days that we had last week.
I worked in the backyard tending to some gardening, pulling weeds and rearranging a bit. I took a few photos to share.

This sun makes me laugh. It looks like she has hair. This has been going on all Summer long. The vines grow from the backside of the fence and flop over. I cut them all off at the ground but they always seem to grow right back for her hair style. Maybe I should just leave it. What do you think??

Do you remember me posting about my Pineapple plants several months ago. Look how much they've grown. Amazing~can hardly wait for them to grow the fruit.

It won't be long before all my Banana plants leaves die back. This morning the temp was 57 degrees, these plants don't take cooler weather very well so I wanted to get at least one more picture of them this year. The leaves can die overnight, it always shocks me at how fast that happens. The banana plant leaning in the back has bananas on it,they're heavy!

Bananas! We'll probably cut the stalk sometime this week.

Here's one last photo. A pretty little flower to brighten your day

Hope you have a fabulous week!

From the Heart,

  1. You have so many gorgeous plants. Amazing that you are able to grow your own bananas and pineapples.

  2. The idea of bananas and pineapple in the back yard is so exotic to me. We visited friends in Florida this year and I felt like I was on a fieldtrip! You are so lucky. Definitely leave the hairdo on the sun!

I love comments and I always take the time to write you back to say "Thanks" if you don't have your setting to noreply. Just know that I appreciate each and every comment left. They make my day!
